MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MAHASISWA MELALUI METODE MIND MAP PADA PERKULIAHAN PEDAGOGIK

Abstract

Pedagogic courses are Basic Education Courses (MKDK) which have a general content on how to understand education for children. Mastery of the concept will be very beneficial for students as prospective lecturers who are ready to become agents of change for their students. Therefore, pedagogical lectures in the second semester must really be able to meet the mastery needs of the student concept. For the sake of achieving the above, of course a lecturer, especially pedagogic lecturer  must  have  a  capable  ability  in  material  presentation.  This  is  so  that students are interested in participating in pedagogical lectures so that the material and values delivered by the lecturer can be absorbed maximally  by producing improved lecture results. The research uses the Mind Map method using a qualitative descriptive PTK system. The results showed that through the Mind Map method student learning outcomes in pedagogical subjects had increased, which in the first cycle reached 2.67, the second cycle reached 3.35, and the third cycle reached 3.78. Based on the results of the reflection and interview improvement, because  each  student  gets  the  opportunity  to  be  creative  in  making  material concept maps by using the Mind Map method, so that when given the exam questions students get ease in developing a description answer.

Mata kuliah pedagogik merupakan Mata Kuliah Dasar Kependidikan (MKDK) yang memiliki muatan yang umum tentang cara memahami pendidikan terhadap anak. Penguasaan  konsep  akan  sangat  bermanfaat  bagi  mahasiswa  sebagai  calon dosen yang siap menjadi agen of change bagi para mahasiswanya. Oleh sebab itu kegiatan perkuliahan pedagogik pada semester dua haruslah benar-benar mampu memenuhi kebutuhan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa. Demi tercapainya hal tersebut di atas tentu seorang dosen, khususnya dosen pedagogik harus memiliki kemampuan yang mumpuni dalam hal penyajian materi. Hal ini dimaksudkan agar mahasiswa tertarik dalam mengikuti perkuliahan pedagogik sehingga materi dan nilai-nilai yang disampaikan dosen dapat diserap mahasiswa secara maksimal dengan menghasilkan hasil perkuliahan yang meningkat. Adapun penelitian ini menggunakan  metode  Mind  Map  dengan  menggunakan  sistem  PTK  kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui metode Mind Map hasil belajar mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah pedagogik mengalami peningkatan, dimana pada siklus I mencapai 2.67, siklus II mencapai 3.35, serta siklus III mencapai 3.78. Berdasarkan hasil refleksi dan wawancara peningkatan tersebut dikarenakan setiap mahasiswa mendapat kesempatan untuk berkreasi dalam membuat peta konsep   materi   dengan   menggunakan   metode   Mind   Map,   sehingga   ketika diberikan  soal ujian mahasiswa  mendapat kemudahan  dalam mengembangkan jawaban uraian.
