HUBUNGAN ANTARA MINAT MEMBACA DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR DI KOTA BANDUNG

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between reading interest and learning achievement of elementary school students. The research method used is correlational research with one independent variable and one dependent variable. The data obtained were students' reading interest and learning achievement data. The population in this study were all fifth grade elementary school students in the city of Bandung. The sample in the study was taken by purposive sampling, namely three schools that represent certain areas in the city of Bandung were taken. Reading interest data was obtained from a questionnaire filled out by students who became the sample, and learning achievement data was taken from the average score of students in all subjects. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test with α = 5%. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between students' reading interest and their learning achievement. The relationship is 12%. This shows that the higher the students' reading interest, the higher the learning achievement obtained in each subject, and vice versa.
