THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AND ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR REGIONAL EDUCATION COOPERATION IN ASEAN

Abstrak

The trend of the fourth industrial revolution has drastically changed the social and economic landscapes, including changing the characteristic of work along with the skills needed. The complexity of the education system to meet the needs of the fourth industrial revolution era has enhanced educational cooperation among ASEAN countries. ASEAN responds to this by intensifying cooperation in the education sector through various platforms, including ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting (ASED). Furthermore, this paper would describe those education cooperation schemes and to what extent every actor would comply with the cooperation agreement if we analyze through the dimensions of interest, efficiency and norms.
