FACTORS INFLUENCING LIBRARIANSHIP STUDENTS’ PARTICIPATION IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

This paper focuses on examining the factors affecting the librarianship students’ participation in scientific research in Can Tho University, Vietnam. The research is based on the conceptual framework and the State's regulations related to scientific research among students. Conducted by the quantitative method with a survey of 137 current librarianship students, the findings show that factors such as passion, external motivation and self-interest are influenced on students' participation in scientific research. The study also shows that the benefits of scientific research are the most powerful factors that motivate students to participate in research. On the contrary, the low awareness of self-study is the factor that prevents students from involving in scientific research activities. These findings are not only useful for the Department of Information and Library Management, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Can Tho University, but also an important reference for other training units in related to promoting research activities among students.

UTILIZATION OF IOT FOR MONITORING OF GOODS DELIVERY

The development of computer technology has been so rapid, encouraging authors to take advantage of these developments to conduct research on monitoring the entire fleet of vehicles used to deliver and pick up goods in a business company. Monitoring is seen as very important to ensure that goods sent or taken to support business processes are carried out according to a predetermined schedule. This is to avoid disruptions in the process of sending or picking up goods that can harm the company or harm consumers. This monitoring device utilizes IoT technology, where every fleet is installed with Arduino microcontrollers, GPRS modules, and GPS modules, where the Arduino microcontroller module will send locations every minute using a GPRS connection to a server inside the company, then the server will record all record the location of the existing fleet of vehicles. With the travel records of the entire fleet, it will be easier for the company to monitor and provide assistance to the process of sending or picking up goods in the event of disturbances in the middle of the trip. The author's server side application utilizes open source applications, namely mysql database, apache web server, and PHP programming language.

EFFECTIVENESS OF ONLINE LEARNING IN THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The Covid-19 pandemic, which has affected practically every country on the planet, has had an impact on changes in the system and order of life, including the education system in Indonesia. Because of the epidemic, learning that could previously be done face-to-face must now be done online. The application of online learning during the Covid-19 epidemic must be assessed. One of them is discovered as a result of this research. The purpose of this research is to investigate the efficacy of high school online learning in Central Java. The survey research method was employed, along with a questionnaire instrument. According to the findings, 44.1 percent of students were unsatisfied with the implementation of online learning, 12 percent were extremely displeased, 27.2 percent were very content, 12.9 percent were satisfied, and just 3.8 percent were very satisfied. Poor signal problems, inefficient quotas, unsupported cellphones, and students feeling bored and bored with online learning are some of the constraints that students face while learning online. Teachers use Google Classroom, WhatsApp, Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams for online learning. In terms of the learning approach adopted, students continue to favor face-to-face learning with a 44.7 percent preference. In addition to the face-to-face format, 39.9 percent of students choose the blended learning model, which combines online and offline instruction. Only 15.5 percent prefer online education.

The Karawang District Court is an official body or institution that organizes the judicial system in the form of examination, examination, and deciding cases. In carrying out its duties and functions, the Karawang District Court cannot be separated from the competition out there which demands that each division or division in it is required to be able to manage every stage of science effectively and efficiently. If this knowledge is managed properly, there will be many benefits that can increase the competence of the Karawang District Court. Therefore, it is necessary to apply knowledge management in the Karawang District Court which is an attraction for researchers to analyze the readiness of the application of the KM system in the Karawang District Court. Therefore, this study aims to measure the level of readiness to implement the system in the Karawang District Court. The research method used is descriptive quantitative while compiling the questionnaire using the Knowledge Management Success Factor (KMCSF) approach to help determine the extent to which the Karawang District Court is ready to implement knowledge management. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with the type of snowball, so the number of respondents in this study was 60 respondents. The results of this study after data analysis and data testing can be concluded that the Karawang District Court is ready to implement knowledge management.

This study examines the development of research on entrepreneurial intentions among university students using bibliometric analysis. The study aims to determine: (1) The result of the number of international publications on entrepreneurial intentions among university students. (2) Name of journal, author, and publisher of research on entrepreneurial intention among university students (3) Map of the topic of entrepreneurial intention among university students publications based on co-words. Collect data by searching for public or perish with the keywords entrepreneurship, intention, student, university article title, abstract, and keywords in 2010–2020. The number of articles taken was 200 articles with categories based on the number of citations from the largest to the smallest. Subjects were analyzed using Microsoft Excel. Meanwhile, the trend of topic mapping was analyzed using VosViewer software. The results showed that the highest growth development in 2010 - 2020 occurred in 2016, reaching 25 publications. Most international publications are published in the Emerald journal as many as 35 articles. Most citations 762 from authors F Liñán, D Urbano, M Guerrero published by Taylor & Francis. Research on entrepreneurial intentions among university students attracts many researchers from various regions. Still, from bibliometric analysis, only two countries appear with the most categories, namely South Africa and Pakistan. The theoretical model used is dominated by Theory Planned Behaviour (TPB) Ajzen, 1991. For further research, the author suggests additional keywords so that more research results are more accurate and comprehensive.

The development of information technology is currently growing rapidly accompanying changes in society in lifestyle. Access to get information needs is now increasing, easy, fast, all of this is supported by the internet. As we all know, at the end of 2019 mankind around the world was shaken by the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic which caused panic everywhere. Hundreds of thousands of people were infected and thousands more died. Then in early 2020, Covid-19 entered Indonesia. To provide information to the public, a website-based information system was built regarding the updated information about Covid-19. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of community satisfaction, especially in Karawang Regency. The method used in this study is the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) 3. The population in this study is the entire community in Karawang Regency, while the sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling type so that the sample in this study is 100 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the variables of Benefit, Ease of Use, Ability to use Computer, Obligation to use, Interest in Usage Behavior, and Attitude of Use respectively significantly affect the level of community satisfaction with the Covid-19 website Karawang.

LEVERAGING EXEMPLIFICATION EFFECT FOR RISK COMMUNICATION

This research aims to evaluate the relative impact of each visual, text, and visual and text exemplars taken from Kompas.com COVID-19 news on how it is perceived as a factor in influencing risk. The means of exemplar though versatile and uses widespread in media presentation to provide information and attractiveness of phenomenon for the audience, has received little attention in communication research, especially in Indonesia. An experimental study using post-test only group design in two sub-districts at South Jakarta red zone area followed by ANOVA analysis found that visual, text, and visual and text exemplars exposed to each group have significantly induced risk of contracting COVID-19. A further means plots were also conducted to investigate the tendency that may emerge from previous results. Moreover, the essence of this research also reveals age 18-25 has the lowest perceived risk level, while age 40-50 indicates the highest level. Further, women are seen to have more tendency to have perceived greater risk compared to men. These findings provide new insight into the impact of messages, particularly when engaging exemplification effect in risk communications.

The level of financial literacy of the Indonesian is still relatively low due to lack of knowledge about financial products and services and how to apply them through inappropriate financial attitudes and behaviors. This has become one of the important things for Kpopers because their personal finances are not only used for daily needs and future planning, but also used for hobbies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of financial literacy among Korean Pop Lovers (Kpopers) in Karawang. This study also aims to determine the effect of gender, age and financial literacy on income Kpopers in Karawang.

The sampling method in this study used a saturated sample that is the entire population used as a research sample. The sample in this study amounted to 150 Kpopers in Karawang. This study uses a quantitative approach obtained through a questionnaire to 150 Kpopers respondents in Karawang which is then processed using multiple linear regression analysis. The result of this study indicate that gender dan age factors have a positive effect on Kpopers income in period 2020. While financial literacy doesn’t have impact on Kpopers income in Karawang period 2020. In addition, the result of this study also show that the Kpopers financial literacy level in Karawang period 2020 is in the high category, it can be interpreted that most of Kpopers in Karawang have good knowledge of financial.

This research intends to determine the effect of the implementation of academic information systems and the quality of academic services on user satisfaction mediated by decision making. The sample of respondents in this research was 155 respondents with an error rate of 5%. Testing the data in this research using validity tests, reliability tests, and multiple linear regression tests using the SPSS version 19 program. The development of information technology that is rapidly growing has a positive impact on organizations or companies such as universities, the existence of an academic information system can help students’ users in making decisions, especially in the academic field. In order to achieve the expected goals, the academic information system needs to be evaluated on the implementation of the system and the quality of services provided by the campus to its users. The existence of an evaluation of academic information systems and service quality will have an impact on user satisfaction, this has become a phenomenon in research conducted by researchers. The result of this research is that the user satisfaction variable does not mediate the academic information system (SIAKAD) variable on decision making, but the user satisfaction variable mediates the effect of service quality on decision making.

The paper presents a student-led model for developing creative thinking to create high-quality human resources in the industrial revolution. This model is developed based on an open space with full of modern equipment for learning and scientific research activities of Can Tho University students. This open space is called the Maker Innovation Space and is run by most students. Students participating in projects such as Undergraduate Research Initiative (URI), engineering project in community services (EPICS), or Maker to Entrepreneur Program (MEP), scientific research projects, course projects or graduation theses can freely use this space. In addition, the Maker Innovation Space also organizes many STEM/STEAM training courses for both students and high school teachers to deploy scientific research programs to high schools. Enhancing effectively moral educational management for students is an urgent requirement in schools, especially at Junior high schools of Vietnamese educational contexts. The urgency of strengthening general education for students in Junior high schools in Chau Thanh District, Dong Thap Province, in the Mekong Delta regions, Vietnam is the basis for the problems of managing general education for the students . The research conducted a survey of 150 teachers and administrators of Junior high schools on the current situations of managing moral activities for students. Its method was mainly a questionnaire survey and a semi-structured interview. The data were processed through the mean score (MS) and percentage (%). The content of the survey and the interview focused on a number of situations such as The reality of awareness about the role of managing moral activities; current status of its planning and management; the actual situations of the organization and management of the implementation of the plans; the actual situation of management to direct the implementation of the plans; status of examinations and assessments of moral management for Junior high school students in Chau Thanh District, Dong Thap Province, Vietnam and its influenced factors. The article also would presents some suitable measures of moral educational management for Junior high school students at Chau Thanh District, Dong Thap Province, Vietnam on the path to create excellent students, posing both intelligent and high moral standard students.

Coronavirus is a disease that has shocked the world, including Indonesia. The emergency of the Covid-19 vaccine is not only related to efforts to prevent the covid-19 virus but also related to consumer protection as vaccine recipients that must be considered. This because the Covid-19 vaccine can be categorized as a type of goods so that it refers to article 8 paragraph 1 point an of law no.8 of 1999 on consumer protection. Then business actors are prohibited from producing and or trading goods and or services that do not meet or do not comply with the standards required by the provisions of laws and regulation. This means that in Indonesia, consumer goods must obtain a permit from The Good and Drug Supervisory Agency, Indonesia National Standards, and the Indonesian Ulama Council halal label. And the type of research is normative juridical research with the nature of research in the form of analytical descriptive, which discloses laws and regulations related to legal theories. This research was conducted by approaching, reviewing all laws and regulations related to the legal issues being handled. Data collection techniques are carried out by examining the existing document, namely with legal materials and information in the form of books, scientific essays, laws, and regulations, and other written materials related to the object of research. Data analysis that will be carried out qualitatively which can make it easier to analyze the problems to be discussed, interpret and then draw conclusion using logical thinking which is done deductively.

The practice of social entrepreneurship is starting to spread among young people interested in using their skills for a good mission. They crave an opportunity to use the skills they have in something meaningful for the environment around them. The development of social entrepreneurship can create opportunities and improve people's living standards and provide value for innovation and new creations to the socio-economic environment of the community, which then becomes the social capital of human resource development. This research focuses on social entrepreneurship in Makassar named Tenoon, which applies a social business model by empowering the person with disabilities. This study aims to: 1) analyze the empowerment activities of persons with disabilities applied by social entrepreneurship (Tenoon), 2) analyze what factors determine sustainable social entrepreneurship. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, with data collection methods carried out through interviews, field surveys, and literature studies. The results showed that: 1) Tenoon implements various communication strategies for smooth empowerment activities. They are based on the communication approach capabilities of business actors towards empowered communities with disabilities. 2) Maximizing profit by implementing commercial strategies to ensure sustainability in carrying out social missions so that the entrepreneurs concerned can balance between profit and the impact they want to provide.

THE EFFECT OF CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT ON CUSTOMER EQUITY AND REPURCHASE INTENTION IN MOBILE SHOPPING APPLICATIONS

The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit since 2020 has limited people's mobility. This has an impact on increasing online transactions. The increasing attention paid to digital marketing to facilitate customer engagement with brands, research on mobile app customer engagement and its consequences is still waiting to be developed. This study, thus, explores how mobile app customers engage with three dimensions (cognitive, emotional, and behavioral) through various social media communities affect customer equity (brand, value, and relationship equity) and repurchase intentions. This study uses structural equation modeling to test the hypothesis. Empirical findings show that mobile shopping app customer engagement (via cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions) positively affects customer equity, which further increases the repurchase intention of existing customers. The findings of this study reveal that customer engagement has a direct effect on repurchase intention and is partially mediated by customer equity. This suggests that the accumulation of customer engagement on brand, value, and relationship equity partially mediates the positive impact of repurchase intentions on mobile shopping applications.

The development philosophy by Indonesia is change, starts from the village to correct previous development practices. Hence, public service motivation is essential to promote village development. So, the purpose of this study is to examine the direct and indirect effects of transformational leadership and organizational culture on public service motivation. The methodology accordingly includes a seven-item scale questionnaire survey consisting of 210 samples of village officials. We used the structural model, fit model, and mediation model to test the hypothesis and allow SmartPLS. The result showed that public service motivation is directly influenced by transformational leadership and organizational culture. Indirectly, public service motivation is influenced by transformational leadership mediated by organizational culture. Hence transformational leadership is the essential thing that should be implemented by the village official where they needed to empower. In line with it, organizational culture has a mediation role in improving public service motivation. Hence, the local role of government is expected to empower the village's organizational environment to make the village more positional.

Social entrepreneurial intention among students has been widely studied. The novelty of the study appears to be in the aim of analyzing the role of Minangkabau women on social entrepreneurial intention by examining the role of antecedents, namely self-efficacy, perceived social support, and prosocial motivation. Respondents who were involved in this research were 250 Minangkabau ethnic students with the criteria that they had taken lectures for at least 2 semesters at public and private universities in the city of Padang. The data analysis technique used the multiple linear regression method with the help of the STATA application. An interesting finding from this research is that self-efficacy, perceived social support, and prosocial motivation show a positive and significant influence on the social entrepreneurial intention of students in social entrepreneurship. One of the limitations of this study is that the scope and scope of the sample are not yet widespread, which is one of the limitations of this research. It is hoped that future research can expand the scope of the sample, such as involving practitioners of social entrepreneurs and social technopreneur so that the depth of analysis is better. Also, this research has not yet linked differences in personality characteristics, to the context of differences in developed and developing countries (ethnicities).

This study aims to explain the effect of perceived ease of use on consumer attitudes and intentions using Online Travel Agencies. The population in this study is all Indonesian people and by using a sample of 220 respondents who were collected using a non-random sampling purposive sampling technique, namely people who are accustomed to using internet media and have the potential to travel. The data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach. This study concludes that there is a significant effect between perceived ease of use on attitudes and perceptions of benefits, perceptions of benefits and attitudes towards intention, the absence of an effect of perceived usefulness on intention, and the indirect effect of perceived ease of use on intention with attitudes and perceived usefulness as mediating variables.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many dental practices to shutting down or just available an emergency treatment, because the dentist's actions are at great risk for the spread of the COVID-19 virus, which is related to the production of aerosols and droplets, while the community's need for health services and dental care periodically are still very high. After the government implemented a new normal life or adaptation of new habits known as the New Normal era. The problem that arises is that in the New Normal era, dental practice is required to make changes and tighten the rules and limit the hours of practice in health services by apply health protocols in a disciplined manner during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The purpose of this study was to examine changes in time management in the private practice hours of drg. Irma Anindyta during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The method used in this research is with quantitative methods and sampling technique is purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical data analysis techniques. It was concluded that there was a significant change in time management in dentistry due to government policies in implementing WFH (Work from Home) and social distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This research aims to analyze the contribution of community behavior on the tourist
village quality at Tomok Samosir, North Sumatera. The samples of the research were 50
people (head of families) at Tomok Samosir, North Sumatera. The data was collected using a
questionnaire, after being tested first. The data analysis technique used simple and multiple
regression analysis. The result of the research found that there was a positive and significant
contribution between community behavior on the tourist village quality at Tomok Samosir, North
Sumatera. The contribution of community behavior on the quality of the tourist village was
51,69%. After tracing the three indicators of the community behavior, it turned out that
psychomotor indicator had a stronger contribution on the tourist village quality, followed by
affective, and cognitive of community behavior at Tomok Samosir, North Sumatera. To increase
the tourist village quality, it can be done by increasing the community behavior quality, namely
the quality of psychomotor, affective, and cognitive of the community at Tomok Samosir, North
Sumatera.

The case study in this research is the Perum Peruri Non-Money Production Division Air Center Development project. The analysis method used in this research is the Critical Path Method (CPM) and Project Evaluation Review Technique (PERT). This analysis method is used to analyze the optimal time and optimal cost of the project which previously took 180 days and cost Rp. 7,939,812,640,-, in order to find out possible accelerate time and the optimal cost of the project. The acceleration method achieved by increasing the working time (overtime hours) for the project workers and also by increasing the number of workers on the project. The results obtained are as follow; there are 3 project paths that occur. One critical path with a project completion time of 180 days. By using the Project Evaluation Review Technique (PERT) method with a Td value of 187 days the probability of project completion is 99.18%, The optimal project time is 168 days which obtained through overtime for 2 hours / day and by using the Project Evaluation Review Technique (PERT) method with a value of Td = 176 days, the probability of project completion is 99.20% and the optimal cost of the project is Rp. 7,649,700,010,- with an increase in costs of 0.03% with a value of Rp. 2.362.000,-

Teachers have a pivotal role in maintaining and improving EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners’ motivation. Thus, it seems important for teachers to have motivational strategies to nurture learners’ motivation, especially during Covid-19 pandemic where students need to adapt with different teaching and learning situations. The present study aims to analyze motivational strategies that teachers conduct to maintain their students’ motivation during Covid-19 pandemic. The present study will provide more insights to educators on practical knowledge to improve students’ motivation. The present study applied a mixed method by distributing a set of questionnaires and interviewing ten respondents. The results show promoting learners’ self confidence, increasing learners’ goal orientedness, presenting tasks properly, recognizing students’ efforts, making the learning tasks stimulating, promoting group cohesiveness are some of the most salient motivational strategies. On the other hand, creating a pleasant classroom climate and familiarizing learners with L2-related values are some of the least salient motivational strategies. The present study indicates that motivational strategies taken by teachers would depend on the present teaching contexts such as the condition of the learning environment and students, especially during health crises such as Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, it seems important for educators to adapt their approach according to the learning environment and conditions. In addition, pre-service teachers need to be equipped with teaching practical knowledge such as using technology in the classroom and communicating with students so that they will not feel isolated during online teaching.

The Public Information Disclosure Law No. 14 of 2008 is a crucial legislative reference for encouraging transparency in Indonesia. Information availability can lead to good, transparent, effective, efficient, and responsible government. The E-Budgeting method demonstrates this success in terms of budget transparency. Constructivism, qualitative research methodologies, case study research design, data gathering procedures including in-depth interviews, observations, and literature reviews are all part of this research paradigm. Data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification are all approaches used in data analysis. Because the Financial Supervisory Agency has changed its classification from Fair with Exceptions to Unqualified, the results of this study show that the implementation of the e-budgeting system in DKI is proceeding very well. The system offers several advantages, including transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness, as well as the ability to track APBD budget data in DKI Jakarta. Even yet, DKI's e-budgeting system is still not smart due to a number of flaws, including manual budget verification, insufficient detection of incorrect budgets, and poor human resource quality.

Some consumers buy apparel products based on extrinsic value considerations such as social status, lifestyle, consumerism, and high quality. Consumerism has encouraged counterfeiting of well-known trademarks for various apparel products. The city of Bandung is known as one of the local fashion centers in Indonesia. There are many factory outlets that sell counterfeit products such as Levi's, DKNY, Under Armour, Polo Ralph Lauren, Jeep, Hugo Boss, Giorgio Armani, Guess and other well-known brands. The sale of counterfeit apparel products can have a direct impact on the development of the creative industry and law enforcement efforts. The results show that apparel counterfeit products are very dominant so that it has a negative impact on the development of the creative industry, especially the development of local designs. As a result, local brands and local designs are difficult to compete because consumers are more attracted to counterfeit products.In addition, law enforcement is weak in dealing with these illegal businesses.

Sustainable tourism has become a popular theme, namely the concept of a tourism industry that is mutually beneficial for all stakeholders, especially for nature preservation and empowerment of local communities. One of these tourist destinations is the Cibeo customary hamlet, Kanekes Village, Lebak Regency. This hamlet is the residence of the Baduy Dalam community. The location can only be reached on foot for about 3-4 hours from the non-Baduy village of Ciboleger.This study aims to examine the impact of the tourism industry on the preservation of the natural environment and its benefits for the Baduy Dalam community as the main stakeholder.The Baduy Dalam community has various prohibitions in their daily life, among others, the prohibition of using eating and drinking glass utensils or similar materials, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bath soap, and shampoo. The use of factory-made products should not be used because it violates customs. The findings were a lot of garbage such as cigarette filters, plastic bags, mineral plastic bottles, drinking cans, sachet drink wrappers, and food packaging that were thrown away by irresponsible tourists along roads or rivers.Most of the waste is made from non-biodegradable plastics that remain in the soil for decades. Plastic waste pollution has a negative impact on sustainabile tourism development in the Cibeo customary hamlet. Therefore, stakeholders, especially the government need to find the right solution or model in implementing sustainable tourism development in the Cibeo customary hamlet.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN PUBLIC SERVICE SUPERVISION THROUGH THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA'S OMBUDSMAN

Community engagement is critical in overseeing the implementation of public services to ensure that they are delivered in the best interests of the community. The Republic of Indonesia's Ombudsman is present as an external institution that oversees public services and allows the public to complain public service providers if there is a risk of maladministration. The purpose of this study was to determine community involvement in public service supervision and to establish how the Jabodetabek Ombudsman's strategy for promoting public participation in public service supervision worked. This research employs a qualitative approach and a case study research methodology. Literature review, documentation, participant observation, and interviews were employed to collect data. According to the findings of the study, the public can participate in the oversight of public services by filing public complaint reports with the Jakarta Ombudsman about charges of public service provider maladministration. Also, the Jakarta Ombudsman provides public service consultations to assist the community if they have difficulty accessing public services. In order to supervise public services, the public can also report information to the Jakarta Ombudsman about possible maladministration. The Jakarta Ombudsman has several methods in place to enhance public participation, including various activities to present the Ombudsman to the wider community. First, through collaboration with the government and educational institutions (universities), second, directly through PVL On the Spot, and third, through the Jakarta Ombudsman's social media.

INNOVATIVE BUSINESS STRATEGY OF RATTAN INDUSTRY IN KATINGAN REGENCY CENTRAL KALIMANTAN IS IMPERATIVE: A CASE STUDY

Indonesia is the largest contributor of rattan in the world which produces around 143,120 tons per year. The export value of Indonesian rattan products reaches USD 357.16 million from January to August 2020. The rattan industry has great potential and is highly competitive product. This study used a qualitative approach and case study research methods. The object of this research is the rattan industry in Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. It is the largest rattan producer in Indonesia with an area of 325,000 hectares and produces around 600-800 tons/month of rattan. Katingan rattan commodity types are raw rattan and semi-finished rattan materials. So far, Katingan rattan is mostly supplied to the largest rattan craft center in Cirebon Regency, West Java Province. In the center of the furniture and rattan handicraft industry in Cirebon, there are around 1,408 companies and about 60,000 rattan craftsmen who produce 60% of the national rattan products. Minister of Trade Regulation No. 35/2011 on the Export Policy of Rattan and Rattan Products which prohibits the export of raw rattan, washed rattan and round rattan (W/S), and semi-finished rattan. This export ban causes rattan production to decline, commodity prices plummet, and the income of farmers and rattan craftsmen is minimal. Therefore, an innovative business strategy is needed so that the Katingan rattan industry is more optimal and can improve the economy of the local community.

OPTIMIZATION OF MEDICAL PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) AS A 'SELF CLEANER' AND ANTIVIRAL USING CARBON QUANTUM DOTS (CQDs) FROM RICE STRAW WASTE

COVID-19 cases in the world have reached 100 million cases. One of the preventive measures in preventing COVID-19 is by using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). PPE is a set of medical devices to cover the body consisting of Surgical Masks, N95 Respirators, Eye Protection, Face Shields, Examination Gloves, Surgical Gloves, Disposable Dresses, Medical Coveralls, Heavy Duty Apron, Waterproof Boots, and Shoe Covers . The use of PPE in nowadays can only be used once. Meanwhile, the need for PPE has increased since the COVID-19 case. As a result, the production of PPE becomes crisis and tends to pile up as trash. The idea offered in this project is the use of Carbon Quantum Dots (CQDs) from rice straw as a self-cleaner and antiviral for PPE. Carbon Quantum Dots (CQDs) are a zero-dimensional carbon nanomaterial that is below 10 nm in size, has an amorphous structure, and spherical in shape. CQDs has a unique property that called luminescence. The luminescence of CQDs can trigger a photocatalyst reaction so that it can kills virus (antiviral) that attached to the surface of CQDs. In addition, its small dimensions and size can prevent viruses from entering through its surface. The main material used to make CQDs in this project is rice straw waste. By looking at the composition of the rice straw in general, it consist of Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) 77.00%, Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF) 57.91%, cellulose 23.05%, hemicellulose 19.09%, and lignin 22.93%. These composition are composed more of the carbon content which has the potential to be the main composition in the manufacture of CQDs. With the idea of this project, it is hoped that it can answer problems regarding the PPE crisis and waste pollution due to PPE.
