Abstract

Reimbursement among drug addicts is not a new issue. This effort has long since been implemented since drug addiction is considered a serious epidemic problem since the 70's. A variety of immune strategies among drug addicts that are not properly done cause them to avoid being trapped by drugs. This study aims to identify the coping among multiracial youth to overcoming the problem of redistribution and to identify the coping of multi-ethnic youth in order to reduce the redemption. This study also carried out through surveys using questionnaires. The subjects of the study were youth who had been involved with drug rehabilitation at rehabilitation centres and were released (still in parole) but still need to attend a meeting held at the rehabilitation centre. A total of 63 people have been involved in this study. The study was conducted at rehabilitation centres involving former drug addicts in Sandakan and Tawau. Purposive sampling was using as a sampling method. It also involved 63 youths 18 - 35 years from selected areas such as from Tawau and Sandakan. In this study,
the instrument used is 'Drug Avoidance Cell-Efficacy Scale' founded by Martin (1992). Inventory used in this study lists 16 questions of self-esteem strategy of self-control rather than involving drugs. The results show that overall the sample of the study has a relatively high positive performance ability and a coping rate is moderate. This study also shows that each ethnic group has different strategies for dealing with their problems when faced with a problematic situation that prompted them to take drugs again.
